Time doesn’t wait
Always intent on getting ahead
As he has somewhere urgent to be
Time rarely walks
Barely even runs
Always seem to fly
Time is a bit sneaky
One minute you think you have him
The next, you turn around and he’s vanished
Without a trace
Like he was never there
Time seems to be putting pressure on us
But really he’s just doing his own thing

‘Cos I’m gonna be about doing what I do,
So don’t let me disturb you’
Time is proactive
Alert and on the ball
Time doesn’t have time to sleep or rest
He just keeps going
Energy reserves like you wouldn’t believe
You can’t control time
Can’t pigeon hole him
Attempts to strap him down to your wrist
And make him follow you
Just won’t work
Still he finds a way to lead
To be the head of the situation
As you find yourself
Continually turning to him
to ensure you are in line with his schedule
He’s a clever guy
Won’t be rushed
Won’t be slowed down
He knows what he wants
And knows how to get it
So forget trying to change him
It’s best to learn
And just fit in with his programme
